Senior Trip to Orgonia

As a celebration of graduation, Stephen Goodwin, Aaron Vestch, Jake Schmidt, Papa and myself decided to take a nice trip to the oregon coast. Good times were had, laughs were laughed, tears (and other things) were shed. I'd say we went into that trip boys, and came out a little bit closer to manhood... maybe. Anyways, it was fun, and here are some pictures from the trip.

Bored on the car ride there. We left at 9pm, this is just from messing around, I think it's pretty neat.

Unfortunately, they didn't have the flavor Jake was looking for. He was, frustrated, to say the least.

Hike down to a very nice beach, got this action shot of Aaron falling. Some strange things went on in those woods. Dare I say stranger than that monster lurkin' on Aaron? Yes, yes I do. Jake could tell you about that one though.

After the hike down to that beach, we found a campsite and hit the hay. The next morning, Papa needed his brew, naturally. So we drove South to Pacific City, Papa got some dirty gas station brew, and we ran into the Canales (a wonderful family). They invited us to the place they were staying on the beach, and we had a very good time kicking the footy (soccer ball) around, flying kites, pinching each other with crab claws, and trying to surf. Above you can see Papa enjoying the Canales hospitality.

Josh Santos

So this is the Josh Santos post, and I hope Santos is really his last name. Josh is a rad kid. He is down at the skatepark almost everyday, if not every day. On a typical day at the skatepark you will find Josh pushing himself to the point of complete frustration (which he clearly demonstrates), and it shows in his skating. Take this first picture of him ollie-ing the seven for example: he was trying it for I don't even know how long, I blew it and didn't get a good shot when he landed it, so he did it twice more. Three times in a row, seven feet to concrete. His legs and feet on the brink of destruction, he was at a point where probably anyone would be more than happy to call it a day. Instead he tries nollie flipping down the bowl over and over and over. Therefore, I say Josh has power stretched his way into this post.

Decided to go black and white on this one, because Josh is a pretty black and white guy (really that isn't why I did it but he is). I think this may be a successful post without a single "in focus" picture... But really what IS in focus these days am I right?

A day at the skate i mean water park.

Today was nuts, I get to the skatepark to find a river and a huge puddle with some of the boys around it. Apparently the city decided to bless us with a water fountain (which you will see further down) instead of a new park but hey, you take what you get.

I'm not gonna say I was totally stoked on the water strangely spewing up from a random crack, but it was actually pretty cool. It made us look at the park a different way, and even though we had to it was still pretty cool. Good times.

One thing I try to do with this blog is show what days are like at the skatepark. Why? I don't even know if anyone checks these or has noticed that I post some with that title. I probably do it cause I have spent so much time there I (and probably everyone else there) am connected with it. Haha. I guess what I am saying is that I love that place, and so do the locals, even though it sucks. Home is where the heart is I guess.

Super Bowl Sunday consisted of going snowboarding for the first time in a long time, spending some quality time with quality people, skating sandpoint park known as the Concrete Lake (haha), and finishing the day off right with Anthem. God is good my friends.

Last session of the barn consisted of a lot more than just skating... including a live show by the north Idaho hit folk duo: Mario and Cody.

Fourth of July at the skatepark is amazing. Lots of fireworks, lots of skating, lots of good people, lots of good times, lots of good bike cops that will hide to catch you shooting a bottle rocket at your friend (:

Seattle Trip

Oh my, where to start?

Seattle trip.

Well, pretty much everyone apart of BFC in North Idaho set out a few weekends ago to Seattle to minister (good word choice), skate, fellowship, initiate, throw sandwiches, laxitate food, give props, robo, climb buildings, buy people food, pray, and have a good time.

Didn't get the greatest pictures, but enough to give you a glimpse of the wonders of this trip.

Probably the most stoked I have been in a car since the test flights of the Portland trip.

Tunnels of Seattle are known to drive people insane.

When we got to Seattle we went right to the ocean to get our sea legs, and to bbq with the Seattle guys, Jake climbed trees with Sky (Jakes twin), watch fire dancers, hop on rocks, search for crabs, and have a good time.

Demo day... It was raining early on, so they set up a big tent, very neat.

Luckily, God is good, and He answers prayer, this time in form of making the only blue sky I saw while in Seattle.

Last weekend we made another unofficial BFC trip, this time to Missoula.

After this we went back to the park for a good couple of hours.

Then we decided to go walk through town before we left.

It was just fun being with everyone.

My brother asked a lady where Diagon alley was, she couldn't recall anything of that name.

Before leaving everyone went to Johnny's car while Noel and I went back to the suburban a block away. We waited for quite a while watching cop cars pull people over. When we saw one loop and turn on the street where they were I joked around saying that they were going to get the guys. Five minutes later Zack called Noel telling them they were sitting on a curb being questioned by the cops.

So this post is a project of mine documenting the building of a jump that we never hit on Schweitzer. It was fun at least.

By this time (around 3:15) we decided that we were gonna miss the lift up, and hike out so we could continue to build.

Yeah, one of two craters/death traps for any skier thinking they were getting fresh tracks.

You should've seen them when we were done.

Once again, it was a beautiful day.

We didn't finish, but it was getting late.

We decided to call it for the day and hike out.

On the way we came across what many know as the T-bar hut.

We decided to make it a wall/roof ride.

Well, Haggard Harder ended up making it on to the roof, but the photo wasn't cover worthy.

That big open area in the background is where we built it.

It wasn't finished after this day, but we went back and got the job done.

The jump was about 12 feet high lip to ground. It was crazy.

We waited for a nice day to shred it, but the nice day never came.

It has rained a lot and the jump is probably ruined.

It still was a good time though.

Man, God is so good. He blesses us with so much!
